IFMA’s World Workplace® 2019
IFMA’s signature facility management conference and expo, World Workplace® 2019, attracted 4,580 attendees from 17 countries for a near record-setting event. Attendees traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, USA, from Europe, Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the Asia-Pacific, and North and South America to explore workplace innovation; the digital impact on FM systems; workforce productivity; how to prepare for and recover from facility emergencies; and workplace health and well-being.

World Workplace 2019 included a two-day exposition, offering over 300 exhibitors on the trade show floor, along with specialized educational sessions.
The educational programming included over 70 CEU-accredited sessions held Thursday – Friday, with an additional 24 Education Arena sessions (non-CEU) on the expo floor Wednesday – Thursday. This year’s program provided attendees with presentations and insights unique for 2019, focused on the evolution of the profession and recognizing the new direction the facility management industry is heading. The content, expertise and networking opportunities offered at IFMA’s World Workplace are unparalleled in the industry.

Prior to the exposition opening, IFMA held its business meetings including a State of the Association presentation by the Executive Committee to the House of Delegates, complete with final audited numbers for Fiscal Year 2019. The official FY2018 – 2019 Annual Report, with results from IFMA’s exceptional prior year, was distributed during the meeting.

Along with the business meetings held prior to the conference, World Workplace attendees were provided the opportunity to either participate in the Utilities Council hosted Doug Underwood Golf Tournament, or attend facility tours where attendees were given access to see what it takes to manage, maintain and protect unique spaces. The sold-out behind-the-scenes tours included bioresearch facilities, a beautifully renovated 90-year-old theatre and the award-winning Phoenix Convention Center.
In addition to the many networking opportunities, a special ice-breaker kick-off event was held at the start of the conference to welcome first-time attendees into the IFMA family, and IFMA Europe organized a cocktail reception to welcome their EMEA constituents.
